Super Mario Galaxy Film Trailer Arrives, Revealing Rosalina and Bowser Jr. Actors

The collaboration between Nintendo and Illumination shared the debut comprehensive teaser for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie midweek. It was showcased in a special Nintendo Direct that highlighted the forthcoming animated feature.

Following up on the 2023 blockbuster The Super Mario Bros. Movie, this latest chapter will propel Mario to the outer limits of the universe. Along the way, he discovers a new princess and a challenging new adversary in Bowser Jr., the heir to Bowser's throne.

An Interstellar Journey Inspired by Beloved Titles

In the vein of the games from the Wii period that provide its foundation, Mario will venture away from the familiar comforts of the Mushroom Kingdom to journey through the cosmos. During his grand adventure, he will reunite with some well-known personalities, for instance the Luma, a breakout star from the previous film.

Yet it looks like Mario and his brother Luigi will confront a new threat in the form of Bowser's angry little boy, who reportedly commands metallic abilities. Interestingly, the trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is not solely focused on Galaxy-themed scenes; it also contains hints to further iconic releases like Super Mario Odyssey and Bowser's Fury.

Celebrity Voice Actors Returns and Expands

The feature will welcome back of the original voice cast, featuring Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek.

Fresh faces in the lineup for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie are Brie Larson, who will voice Rosalina, and Benny Safdie, set to represent Bowser Jr. It was announced by the CEO of Illumination, Chris Meledandri.

A Significant Period for Mario

The upcoming Mario film is scheduled to arrive around the time of the four-decade milestone of the first Super Mario Bros. title. Apart from the cinematic release, 2026 looks set to be a important time for Mario and his friends.

Nintendo has three new games publicly declared for the upcoming year, featuring Mario Tennis Fever, a version for Switch 2 of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and a latest Yoshi adventure game titled Yoshi and the Mysterious Book.
