The workforce reduction are a result of the combination of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, completed this past August valued at $8.4bn.

Further global layoffs are anticipated, with the company planning to disclose complete information via its third quarter earnings report set for the 10th of November.

Earlier reports had indicated that Paramount aimed to cut from 2,000 and 3,000 jobs by the beginning of next month.

By December 2024, the company retained nearly 18,600 full- and part-time employees plus 3,500 temporary project employees.
